DIY Camera Flash For iPhone

July 8, 2009 by ThemeMyPhone   Comments (1)

I got the new iPhone when it came out and I have been taking a lot of pictures and video with it. It's a pretty good camera, but it would be better with a flash has an external battery pack with a built in flash, but it looks kind of bulky. I really wanted the  to come with a flash, but for some reason they didn't put one in...so I decided to do it myself.

Angry AT&T Customers Twitter Petition For Lower iPhone 3G S Upgrade Prices

June 10, 2009 by ThemeMyPhone   Comments (0)

, , , ,

In retaliation of AT&T and O2's unwillingness to subsidize the iPhone 3G S for current 3G owners, users on Twitter are forming "twittitions", a new virtual petition that users can "sign" by posting a tweet. At the time this was written, the Twitition for O2, which was created first, was at 2621 signatures, and the AT&T Twitition at 1858 signatures.

It's not bad in Twitter terms, but we're guessing it will take a lot more signatures before either company is compelled to make any changes. Still, taking a quick look around the Twitterverse, it's easy to see that there's a lot of resentment toward the subsidizing fiasco going around. A search for tweets directed at AT&T's official account show just how angry people are.

If you're upset about the subsidizing practices of O2 or AT&T, we suggest you consider signing one of the above Twititions.

iPhone Game Review: Terminator Salvation

The good:

An excellent game. Multiple control schemes. Fully 3D graphics. Decent replay value. Fun Terminator setting.

The bad:

Pretty short gameplay. Touch controls can be frustrating if you get sweaty fingers. Plot is really weak (but at least it won’t ruin the movie).

The bottom line:

Terminator Salvation is a fantastic 3rd person shooter and definitely one of the most impressive games on the iPhone to date. The controls take some getting used to but end up feeling quite natural. Although you won’t learn any plot points about the movie from this game, the great 3D visuals, good soundtrack, and the huge, action-packed levels will pull you into the Terminator Salvation world. With controls and graphics like these, the PSP and DS will need watch their backs soon. Big game developers are definitely learning how to make the iPhone do their bidding.

Watch Where You Walk With New See-Thru Email App

Worried about walking into that lamppost again while typing out an email? Then you'll be happy to hear that Phase2 Media, the folks behind the fake SMS app that promised to let you see where you're going while typing an SMS, has just released Email 'n Walk, a very real app that shows you what you're about to walk into while you're typing. Screenshot after the break.

The app is currently available as a free download for a limited time, so get it while it's fresh. We haven't tested it out yet (I'm downloading as I write this), but it has a very cool concept, and it looks downright pretty at that. A see-through SMS app would probably still be better, since SMS is something you're more likely to do on the fly while walking around, but we'll take what we can get. App Store download link:
